CAR OF THE WEEK: Tesla Model S P85D

It's a car, it's a plane, it's a rocketship. No, it's the new Tesla Model S P85D.

Tesla are churning out some of the most ground breaking, technologically advanced and beautiful cars on sale, upsetting other luxury players such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Porsche. Tesla has recently launched the Tesla Model S P85D, which we briefly sampled this week.
The stats are as jaw-dropping as the performance: two electric motors, a combined total of 515kW, four wheel drive all draped in the stunning and luxurious Tesla Model S body. Price? Well for our test car, north of $200,000.
So far, we've been in awe of the P85D's performance - the Insane Mode truly is insane - its smooth power delivery, gorgeous styling and of course the sumptuous luxury.
But does the fastest and most powerful four door production car in the world live up to the hype? You'll have to read our full review, coming soon.

CAR OF THE WEEK: Toyota Kluger Grande AWD

Luxurious Toyota Kluger Grande AWD presents as a more than capable SUV
Toyota makes no mistake in boldly claiming that its mid-size Kluger SUV is an ultimate way to transport one's family. This week, we're testing the top of the range and most luxurious and technologically equipped Toyota Kluger Grande with the optional all-wheel drive system.
Vast interior space and clever oddment storage impresses, along with plush seating and generous equipment levels. The Toyota Kluger range also shares the smooth six-speed automatic and lusty-and surprisingly sonorous-3.5 litre V6 with the Toyota Aurion range so it doesn't fall short in the performance stakes either.
However, the extra two drive wheels and weight seem to take their toll on the transmission with the automatic 'box sometimes changing gears too early.
Generally, a very solid SUV. So far.
Full review to follow.

BMW Australia to show off 3.0 CSL Hommage R, new 7 Series, M4 GTS and new MINI Clubman at Motorclassica

BMW Australia will headline its exhibit at 2015 Motorclassica with the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R, which was first unveiled at the Concours d’Elegance at Pebble Beach in August. The aggressively styled coupe is a throwback to the original 3.0 CSL and its styling, technology and motorsport livery. Motorclassica is the concept car’s first outing in the Southern Hemisphere.

The BMW M4 GTS will also be on display to give fans a taste of future BMW M hot rods and the Bavarian marque will also be showcasing the all-new and Mercedes-Benz S-Class rivalling BMW 7 Series limo.

Mercedes-Benz has previously used the Motorclassica event to premiere variants of the current shape S-Class.
The BMW i8 petrol/electric supercar will also make an appearance and BMW will use the event for the Australian premiere of the quirky six-door MINI Clubman.

Motorbike fans are catered for with the new BMW R1200 RS and S 1000 XR models among others on show.
BMW Group Australia Chief Executive Officer Marc Werner said the 3.0 CSL Hommage and new 7 Series point to both the present and future of BMW.
“The BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R was a showstopper upon its unveiling earlier this year, and we are sure it will have the same impact at Motorclassica on Friday,” Werner said.
“The Hommage recognises one of the most iconic cars in our history, and is a tribute to the motorsport success which has helped build the BMW legend.
“Standing alongside an original 3.0 CSL, as well as our all-new BMW 7 Series, Motorclassica will be a celebration of the best of where we have come from, and where we are going.”
Motorclassica will be held at the beautiful Royal Exhibition Centre in Carlton, and opens its doors on Friday the 23rd of October, with the show wrapping up on the following Sunday.
